AG's Entrance

Its fun to hear from people who own AGs. Here are some of the messages we received from other fans of these treasures.

Diane

My son, Shawn, had an AG as a child. He was Shawn's best friend and a very important part of his life for a few years. We still have him, but his voice box disappeared years ago. Shawn is now a father, and my beautiful granddaughter, Heather, lives with us. I would love for her to have the friend that her father cherished when he was a little boy. So I am hoping to be able to get the one I bid on so that we can put his voice box in our old friend. It will be good to hear his voice again. [The story has a happy ending...while she did not win the auction, she was able to obtain a voice box from Dr. Stan and Marianne.]

I have had my bear since I'm guessing I was 2 or 3. I never saw my dad much, so my dad gave me A.G. for Christmas. I slept with A.G. every night for many years. I was left alone with my younger sister for periods of time, and A.G. always kept me safe. He shared all of my happy times, and all of my childhood horrors. I had no idea he did this for so many other people too. Like many children, A.G.'s voice was too much for their elders to handle, thus, the voice box magically disappeared. I lost A.G.'s jacket along the way also. Though he is naked and speechless, I still hold him close to my heart, and he is still the loving, always listening and willing to help bear. In my quest for a new voice for my bear, I ran across "The Teddy bear Dr.". I'm working on getting enough money to buy the new voice these people have for my bear. Thanks so much for all of your effort in making the A.G. Bear known. In my opinion, they should bring A.G. back to the market. He is still a money maker, and a child's dream. [Of course we agree. Wouldn't it be wonderful if someone brought back this treasure?]

Susan

After fifteen years I am getting the family back together again. I got my original AG back in 1985 for a Christmas present. I fell in love. I found out that AG had been purchased at a local store. I went to see what others were available. It was then I first saw Grandma and Grandpa with the baby. Due to financial difficulties at the time, I was unable to purchase any of them. I was lucky enough to have had the gas to get there and back. A year later I went back to the store and they were no longer carrying the Axlon line of toys and went out of business shortly thereafter. For the next couple of years I searched high and low but with no luck.

In January of 1999, my loving, wonderful husband surprised me by signing us up on the internet. It was actually he who started putting the family back together again. Knowing I love auctions, he was going to surprise me by signing me up with eBay, but ended up surprising himself when he found Grandpa!!! I couldn't believe it. After all, fifteen years had passed. Grandpa soon arrived from Maine, and was disappointed because the lady who had sent him to me had told him that we were a large family and thus he expected to be reunited with more of HIS family than just AG. So the search  continued. Soon four others arrived with three more on the way!!! The rest  is history. [Susan and her husband now have a complete family!]

TRIP

When I was 14, I had to have pretty major knee surgery. When I awoke, AG was right next to me to comfort me through a difficult time in my life. AG seemed to always be there to comfort me in the trials of being a teenager. As I began dating, I decided to lend my friend, who listened to all of my problems with no prejudice or lack of interest, to my boyfriend to keep him awake on his way back to college. I never saw my AG bear again. I did have one of his corduroy t-shirts that I have kept all of these years.

My dad started searching E-bay for some golden treasures and found an AG bear still in the box. Christmas of 1998 brought my little furry friend back into my life at the age of 28. Little did I know how much a stuffed animal could effect me emotionally. I sobbed when I opened my gift that year. My parents had brought back my friend from my teenage years and so many memories.

My original AG was gray with a red shirt. My newest friend is brown with a blue shirt.
