Here is Peace meditating beside one of our rocks/waterfalls. We love our rock. It was created by a person named Peter who hangs out at Wild Waters. We hope our Alice will take a better picture of it soon.  Our Alice says it is a waterfall, but we are sure it is a rock. There were even words on the outside of the box in which it came that said "Not Just a Rock" which, we are sure, means it is definitely at least a rock!!! You should have been here when it arrived.

Our rock arrived in a huge box which our Alice opened with enthusiasm and I definitely recognize enthusiasm when I see it. <laughing beanie bear> What she found was lots of those popcorn things that come in packages. They immediately started spreading out which we thought was pretty cool, but our Alice didn't seem to like. She kept going through the box and finally pulled out something we decided was a dish made of something that looks like cement but isn't. She kept looking and eventually pulled out a bag of small rocks and a few bags of things that are supposed to be decorations. The message on the bags said that the decorating was the most fun of assembly since creativity could be employed. We tried very hard not to remember that our Alice seems to be missing this quality!!!

By now the popcorn things had pretty much taken over the living room and had been joined by a thin layer of rock related dust. Our Alice still had not found the main rock and was beginning to look a bit frazzled, but she didn't give up and eventually she pulled out our rock. It is a pretty special rock, carved so that water can run through various levels and with something to circulate the water. Now all we needed was instructions. Soon our Alice had deployed all the popcorn around the living room and had determined that no instructions existed. We didn't know whether to laugh or cry, but she decided that the next step was to try plugging in the gadget. She immediately discovered that the gadget didn't seem to fit the rock. Fortunately she remembered the bag of smaller rocks and dumped them into the bowl thing (scattering a lovely layer of dust around the kitchen <bg>) and then managed to find a stable position for the rock with the gadget in it. She added water and plugged in the rock and it made noise but nothing else happened. She added more and more water. It stopped making noise and continued doing nothing else. She called the shopping channel and the man who makes them doesn't have a customer service number and is probably out looking for more rocks anyway. Our Alice looked glum and took the rock apart and reinserted the gadget and tried again. Amazingly enough water now moved although it no longer made noise. A third attempt proved to be the charm and now our rock has moving water and nice sounds.

We did pretty well with the creative part. First Alice placed 5 crystals in strategic locations and the next day she added two smaller rocks. Then WE added 5 more crystals and a little man. We rather like the barren rock and will probably not add the moss or the fake leaves. It is really a very nice rock, but it IS a rock!!!
